Spotify via Android USB in Car (Golf)

Spotify via Android USB in Car (Golf)

Hi folks,

New to the forum so hope someone can help.

Bought a new car yesterday and was dead excited to be able to play Spotify Premium as my previous car had no connectivity. I can play fine via Bluetooth, but when I try to play via USB, my car stereo simply says "No playable tracks available".

I'm sure it can't be a problem with Spotify if it plays fine via Bluetooth? Can anybody tell me how to fix this? I am disappointed that it isn't as easy as plugging and playing and will probably cancel Spotify Premium if it isn't possible.

I don't fancy Bluetooth use every day - pulsing even more radiation from my phone is not something I want to do regularly.

Thanks 🙂

G

So did you check with VW? I came across this on a VW forum.

"Unforuntely the USB port on our Mk7's are not for Music at all Sad to say. My old 2013 Ford Focus had a USB for an iPod to work and that sometimes worked.. The Golf sadly doesn't work that way, only for charging devices."
