Spotify will turn itself off when second tabbed or when i turn off my screen

My Question or Issue

For the past week i've been experiencing problems to listen to music. When second tabbing the app or simply turning off my screen to save battery, Spotify will turn itself off and restart; or, will play 1 or 2 songs before closing off, tho it generally cuts mid song.

Also takes almost 2 minutes between opening the app and waiting till the interface shows up and is responsive.

I have around 35gb left on storage, no battery restrictions, spotify has the permission to remain open while on second tab. Behavior does not differ when a bluetooth device is connected or not, neither when the app is open with normal wifi or 4g. App still kills itself even when its the only app open on the phone. Have already tried cleaning cache and a fresh reinstall, app is updated.

We're currently investigating performance issues on mobile devices in this thread, which sound similar to what you're describing. Make sure to have a look there to see if it's what you're experiencing as well, and feel free to leave a comment with the requested details if that's the case.

Should your issue be different, however, there are few more things we can try here. To make sure we cover all bases, does the same thing happen when using the app in Offline Mode? Also, if you're using any VPN, make sure to switch it off as it could interfere with the service.
