Spotify won't connect to android auto unless you force stop and restart

I've got an oppo find X3 pro and there's a recurring problem with the latest version of Spotify where it refuses to connect to android auto unless you force stop and restart the app. Can anyone help?

Could you please let us know if you've already tried to log out > restart your device > log back in? 

It is also a good idea to clear cached files on your device by following the steps here and check your battery saving features.
 

On another note, would you mind trying to log in with a different Spotify account on your phone and connecting to the car? This way we can check if the issue is related to your account, which might be the case.
