Spotify won't let me switch songs while casting

I cannot switch songs while casting to Chromecast audio. It connects and casts just fine, and I hit the next button and it starts the animation of switching songs, but then stops and stays on the current song.

Tried rebooting phone, uninstalling app, and clearing cache. Google pixel.
