Spotify won't play through my car stereo

Hi -- I plug the aux cable into my new Samsung Galaxy 5. I turn my car stereo to Aux. i hit play on a Spotify play list. It plays for a millisecond and stops. And i can't get it to play.

Any ideas about what might be wrong?

Spotify works just fine when I plug headphones into my phone. It also works fine with other aux cables (I can plug in and play just fine when I use it in the stereo system at the gym where I teach a group fitness class).

But it won't play in my car.

When I had my old phone, it played in my car without a problem.

Can you try with a differen cable?

I bought a new aux cable, and it kept doing the same thing.

I'm really not sure what the problem is.
