Unwanted podcast at top of my homepage.

+1 — this is hostile design, especially for those paying for a "premium" experience. It doesn't feel right to be paying to remove ads and then still have what are effectively ads prominently featured on my Spotify home screen.

Amazon did a good job of transitioning from an online book store to an online everything store and there are lessons to be learned there.  Spotify should take some queues from those guys.  If I want books, I can see only books(https://amazon.com/books).  If I want electronics, I can see only electronics and so on and so forth.  I don't want Spotify to play everything in the world that is audible.  I want Spotify to play music and that is why I currently pay 16.00 a month.  Just let us turn off podcast suggestions.  It's not rocket science.

Please for the love of God let me get rid of these podcast recommendations on my home page. I have paid for Spotify premium for YEARS and I listen to music all day every day, I literally NEVER listen to podcasts, yet they are the first thing I see when I open Spotify.  I am so frustrated and angry about this. I use Spotify to discover new music and new artists, but I have been doing this less and less simply because it's not obvious and accessible when I open the app. I do not and will not ever listen to a podcast! It seems like an extremely obvious and simple solution to give us the option to turn off podcasts, either completely or recommendations. At least put them UNDERNEATH the music suggestions!! Spotify is a MUSIC platform, not a podcast collection. You are ruining my experience. PLEASE FIX THIS. THIS THREAD IS NEARLY TWO YEARS OLD. I AM NOT HAPPY.

The issue is more than 3 years old & still not capable of creating a simple button to either choose or not to have podcasts.

But it's not surprising from a greedy corporation that only cares about making easy money & not the customers. Many others popular issues are left unsolved, because the developers think they know better than us on what we want.

I don't watch even watch anime but Spotify telling me I'll like this thing, I feel insulted.

This URL is literally the first result for "Stop Showing Podcasts" in a google search... without even the word Spotify in the search string. Your internal metrics measuring KPIs may not be accurately measuring feedback for this concern. I suggest you implement a yes or no question into the actual app itself and ask every user for a week "Do you like having shows listed as the first subject across all Spotify apps? (Yes) (No) and tabulate the results for your next actionable choices regarding the Spotify design process by directly engaging the Spotify community on this topic rather than the opt-in counting of dissenting feedback within community.spotify.com - which a tiny fraction of your subscriber base actually engages with. @Jeremy @Elena @Daisy

I made the mistake of listening to one podcast on Spotify years ago, and am now faced prominently with this type of juvenile trash every time I use the app or desktop client.

Dear Spotify people, at one point i'll stop paying the premium because of this issue. An android auto the first line of suggestion is only podcasts and it makes the playlist selection less convenient. The podcast suggestion is always the same for months and those 3 suggested podcast I will never listen to, so why insisting ?
