Switching between Chromecast devices not possible

Hi,

I have the 5 chromecast devices. When I installed them about 5 month ago I could directly swap from one to another one. Pressing on the device in the list where I can connect to the chromecast device I want was not a problem at all.

When I do this now (this started weeks ago) nothing happens. I just see on the bottom of the screen the information that it is connecting. This will go on forever.

To switch between chromecasts I have to first switch back to my smartphone then choose the chromecast device.

I have already reinstalled the app and all devices have the latest firmware installed.
