if it's still relevant: as long as you do not play songs from the search (means: play music only from your liked songs and your playlists), everything will be okay. if it happens again, just shut spotify down and start it again after few minutes. S23 Ultra, idk will it work on other devices

S23 ultra having the same issue but only for non downloaded tracks

Still happening on Pixel 7 Pro.

Android 14 March 5th security patch

Spotify version 8.9.20.574

Already tried reinstalling app, clearing cache/storage, and restarting phone.

I had the same issue on Samsung Galaxy S22 for about four days. Today everything works as it should. Didn't notice any update, it just works.

I tried again this morning. For the duration of two songs everything worked well. After that, it broke again. When I played the third song the notification worked but it displayed information belonging to the previous song. I closed the app and opened it again, and now the notification is completely broken the same way it was before.

samsung A52s, android 14 and spotify 8.9.20.574. it's still not working for me

Hey folks,

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

First up, we suggest that you try logging out and then logging back in to your account twice in a row to see if that makes the difference.

If the issue persists, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If that doesn't do the trick either, could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update? Also, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your devices would come in handy.

Lastly. would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you're seeing on your end? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

We'll be waiting for your replies.

Hey there @fatfard4

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this only happening on your Google Pixel 7? It'd be useful if you could log in to your account on a different mobile device to see if you can replicate this behavior there.

On another note, would you mind checking if the OS of your phone is up to date? Also, make sure that your phone's running the latest update of the app.

Lastly, could you let us know the exact Spotify version of your device?

We'll be on the lookout.

Chiming in to note that I've had this exact same problem since at least Monday 3/11/24. The problem persists when trying to control Spotify through my Garmin Instinct and Android Auto. I've tried all of the same solutions as OP, except for a complete reinstall for the same reason. I'm using a Galaxy S10E. Both my phone and the Spotify app are up to date, with Spotify being at version 8.9.20.574

I have the exact same problem on my samsung A73 android version 14. It started today and even though I did a complete uninstall and reinstall the problem is still there. I've attached a video which I had to speed up to make it 5 mbs

idk if i can test it out on another phone right now (maybe my old oneplus 6t when i get the chance), but i do know that both my phone and my spotify app are on their latest versions (i have spotify version 8.9.20.574, and if the play store is anything to go by there arent any further updates available)

Same issue on Samsung A71 5G, did a fresh install and did everything mentioned in previous replies, no luck, how are some people getting it working again?

The music progress bar isn't working on my Samsung device (S23 plus) One UI 6.0. I'm not getting the wave widget on lockscreen/music bar anymore, it used to work but for some reason the whole progress bar is gone and I don't get the wave widget anymore. This problem is only with the spotify app, on other apps the widget does work like how it should but on spotify it doesn't anymore.

if you find a solution please update im having the same issue and its driving me crazy

I'm also have this exact issue since 3 days ago aproximatedly. Forcing the app to stop doesn't work, clearing cache doesn't work, clearing data doesn't work. I thought rebooting worked for some time, but I just tested and it doesn't.

I'm on a Galaxy S23. This never happened to me before. I also can't control the music through my Amazfit watch while in this stats, maybe thats a tip for you devs.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9, and I've been having a similar problem for 1-2 weeks. But mine shows the music progress bar all the way to the right, as if the song should be over.

Uninstalling and reinstalling temporarily fixed the issue for me. I'm expecting it to pop up again, though, unless they release a new update to fix it.

I also got this problem a few days now. It's really annoying. Happened when I try to search some song. If the song is played from Radio queue of searched song, the widget is alright. But when i search a song, Widget hot stuck or bug itself.

For more information. Samsung S23 ultra, android 14
