Trying to search for music crashes the app on mobile

Trying to search for music crashes the app on mobile

Since using the new AI Playlist bot, every time I tap the search bar, spotify instantly closes. If it matters, I closed the bot before creating a playlist. This has been ongoing since yesterday evening.

I'm facing the same issue. Pixel 8 Pro. Spotify version 8.9.80.581. The issue started after I had previously searched for the AI playlist and tried it. Now the app is basically unusable.

Also having this issue

- Google Pixel 6 Pro, Android 13

- Spotify version 8.9.80.581 (no updates available)

- used the AI tool yesterday and today the app keeps crashing when I try to search 

Same here, I used the AI playlist feature 2 days ago and now the app crashes everytime I tap on the search bar. 100% repro rate.

 

Device: Pixel 9 Pro Fold

App version: 8.9.80.581

Hi! Still happening to me on Samsung S22 running Android 14 One UI 6.1. Spotify version is 8.9.80.591.

I'm running the latest version of Spotify on a Galaxy S23 (Android 14).
I click the "search" feature. As soon as I attempt to enter a letter in the search bar, the Spotify app shuts down.

This issue started immediately after creating a Spotify AI Generated custom playlist.

Thank you for your patience.

 

We received new info from the relevant teams mentioning that this could be possibly fixed for some users. Would you mind updating the app to its latest version by following the process mentioned here to see if it makes any difference?. It's also worth performing a clean reinstall of the app to make sure there's no damaged cache affecting the proper behavior of the app.

 

If the issue persists, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running.

 

We'll be on the lookout.

This same thing is happening to me, the only difference being that I've never used any AI Features, as I didn't know they existed until now. So this just started all of a sudden completely out of nowhere for me. I have already preformed a Clean Reinstall, and that didn't fix the Issue.

I've also had this issue for almost the last 3 weeks same as everyone else. I figured it'd get fixed fast, but still having issues.

The reinstall is working for now

I had already preformed those steps at the time of that post, and nothing had changed. Although, for whatever reason, Everything is working just fine now, Without me doing anything. I have no explanation for this, so If there are others that are still having this problem, I can't really help you.

This feels like an AI answer to an AI bug... can we get a human response please? This bug is incredibly frustrating.
