Unable to follow friends

Hi, I just recently downloaded the app to my Sony xperia and started using it (signed up via my Facebook account) but I can't seem to follow any of my friends? I have no trouble finding them via their Spotify account names, but when I check their pages I don't see any "follow" button at all? I can see and like their playlists but that's about it. I've tried tapping their profile pictures etc, anywhere I can think of to bring up options, but to no avail

Still unable to find a "follow" button, even on desktop. Please help
