Unable to join jam session on any device

My Question or Issue

I am unable to listen Jam sessions.

When joining the jam, Pixel 7 Pro shows "the host device cannot play this content"

I tried other devices, such as an iPhone and Linux computer.
iPhone: Jam displays but says "this song isn't available"   this is false, and ALL songs show as this. I can leave the jam and listen to the exact song just fine.

Linux computer: Jam displays but can not play, no error message

I have also tried a clean reinstall of the app on Android per https://community.spotify.com/t5/FAQs/Perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485 , restarting phone, and using a different internet connection. The result is the exact same. It seems like somehow it is an account issue.

This is beyond frustrating. It is truly not a song country issue, and it clearly is not a device issue. Even songs I add myself to jam queue just get stuck at 0:00. (If it were a song country issue, it wouldn't let me add it to queue). I can pause and forward songs and it impacts others, but the song never starts.

This occurs on both Bluetooth or device speaker.

Hello @CoolCanuck,

Welcome to the Community and we appreciate you sharing what troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. It helps with the investigation.

There's a few more steps we can suggest in case any of them make a difference:

  • Ask the host to end and then invite you again to the Jam session.
  • We advise against using VPNs as they can cause issues, so please make sure that you and the Jam host aren't using any (or disable them).
  • Since this is happening across devices, ask a relative or a friend to log in to their account on your device(s) and then try joining the same Jam session.
  • Lastly, let us know what happens if you start and share a Jam session instead.

Thanks and we'll be on the lookout for your response.
