Nothing solves this issue.
I really don't know what's going on Spotify.

I switched to Spotify from Google Play and am having the same issue. The android app gives surprisingly low volume compared to the rest of the music playing apps I've used so far. I can also see it was reported 2 years ago and hasn't been solved since.

Not cool.

(Samsung S7)

You're right...not cool at all!
2 years and the problem remains.

I am running the latest android 7 on an LG V20. This is only happening on spotify. If I change songs  the volume goes to about a quarter of what it was before and with it turned all the way up you can hardly hear the music. Closing the app and reopening is the way to fix it. The last update for spoitfy and the OS made it worse. if I change the song I can guarantee that I will have to restart spotify. At $15 a month I expect this app to work without having to restart it all the time!

Hi all.
Had my s6 for two years now, used Spotify all the way through it. The only "liveable" solution is to go into the settings make sure the equalizer is set to normal and there's no additional effects enabled.

This means the music is quieter unfortunately, especially through headphones, but it doesn't change volume for me anymore at least.

Upgrading to the S8 next week. Hoping the trend doesnt continue. But will post results if I can remember! Hope this helps someone!

Just signed up.
Why is there still a 2year old unfixed issue?
And where is a Spotify response FFS?

That's been my question as well about the shuffle problem? Answer, they
don't care!

Turn off the EQ...

Sorry. My EQ is off.
Is THIS what was accepted as the solution?

Sadly mate. It sucks, I know. Just finished two years of it.

Can confirm the s8 sound quality is lovely though for what it's worth.

You can't "turn off" the EQ in the Spotify Android App, or do you mean the Adapt Sound Checkbox? Either way, this does not solve the problem.

The level of sound still sucks.

That's right. You can't turn it off. The problem isn't fixed! see here Volume Issues New Update: Still not fixed

Same problem on S7, Volume is approximately 10 dB lower than e.g. At Amazon Music.

Attached measurements with Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence:

- Spotify

- Play Music

- Amazon Music

Same problem here. Gonna stop using spotify sone and use Another program. Sad sad issue

Same here on an One M8. Things that improved a little bit:

Turning off "Same volume for every track"

While having Spotify open, switch to another music app, play music, switch back to Spotify. Instantly louder. But cant be the permanent solution...

I have the same problem on my Samsung S7, it's so freaking annoying of they don't fix this issue soon I'm gonna switch to an other music app it's not worth paying for premium if you can have the music loud enough to have a good listening experience in public transportation

I am also having the same issue on my galaxy 7. Sounds fine when hooked to to the radio via BT but as soon as I plug in my ear buds it sounds terrible. I love Spotify but am unhappy that I cant listen to my music.

I had to change to Tidal.
It's unbelievable that this issue still remains after years.

You're lucky!
This issue usually remains via Bluetooth too.
