With the Latest Spotify update for Android I have noticed a decrease in the Volume of the music, what gives?!?!?!
Please fix it!
I use Xperia Z3, and even after update to version 3.4.0.762, still having trouble with Volume. The problem is only in my connection (Bluetooth) on my ford, but is only with Spotify, other applications the sound is high.
Please fix this.
The volume is still pretty low compared to other apps. Any progress? It was louder before this scene.
It was only once after update louder and in time the same weak sound. Not what I wait from Spotify. Google Play is louder. Please... before I go, is anyone working on this issue?
Even on Rdio plan which is Free and 160 kbps - sound is more great and louder after all than Spotify Premium so great 320 kbps - very quiet one. Why Spotify is so shy in sound?
Please someone loud up the volume!
I'm having the exact same problem in a 2015 Hyundai, so I would rule out someting on ther car side now. It is very annoying
I don't use the Spotify app much but a friend asked me about this so I figured I'd do an empirical study by connecting my phone to my PC and record from the spotify app and then other apps to compare levels. There is a significant difference. I think they actually implemented this to give headroom for commercials. A lot of music is not mastered to the extreme (which is good) but producers of commercials tend to max everything as loud as they can with various tools and EQ voiceovers to make the speaker sound even more like a douche than he/she already does. These techniques aren't used in the same manner when producing music. So the volume decrease is probably a safety net to not risk causing hearing damage when the advertisements are played. They should however be able to remove this for premium subscribers.
I have found that this app called Persist Volume Control helps with the volume issues. It locks the volume at wherever you set it. Not a bad temporary fix until the Spotify app is fixed. Just a warning, the Persist app takes some effort to understand, but works really well once you know what to do.

This issue seemed to be solved with a previous update but has once again resurfaced with Android 6.0 on version 3.9.0.965.
Any updates on this?
Yes. Spotify tend to be useless for me. Begin to listen a lot of appradio insted.
So why the heck doesn't someone from Spotify weigh in on this issue and at least say whether they have ANY plans to fix this problem. Between this issue and the nearly non-functional SHUFFLE "feature" I'm about to give up on Spotify. Too bad as otherwise I have really liked the functionality when combined with Google Chromecast Audio.
I had this problem with my previous phone (Note 4) and now the same thing with the S7 Edge.
With the Note 4 I solved rooting the phone but I dont wanna have warranty problems with the S7...so no root this time.
Spotify volume sucks...too low...
I tried Tidal, Napster and they're both ok.
Spotify is the only one with this issue and it seems to have no solution.
Too bad...I kind like Spotify... 😞
Been a year - not fixed yet??
Using Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Note 3
Using Spotify on the newest sony xperia and the volume is absolutely pathetic, turned all enhancements and equalizer off, updated to new version, it's probably putting out volume at about 65% or so of the max volume i get from playing actual music files through the music app, not good enough when travelling via subway, considering just cancelling subscription and trying tidal to be honest
