Volume change and tracks skipping

When I plug my headphones in to listen to music, my volume changes itself and skips the track playing. I've been having this problem for awhile but haven't been able to fix it. I've looked online but couldn't find anything about it. If anyone can help fix this issue, I'd appreciate it.

Hello. If this only happens when the headphones are plugged in, either the headphones or the headphone socket is faulty. Can you try different headphones?

I've tried it on other earbuds but still does the same thing. I just bought
a new pair but they're doing the same thing. I have had this issue before
on another phone.

What phone model are you using and what make of earphones? Is there dirt trapped in the socket which prevents the earphone plug from being fully inserted?

I'm using a ZTE zmax pro, and the earbuds are Skullcandy. I bought them
last night. There doesn't seem to be any dirt.
