My Question or Issue
With the latest version of the Spotify app on Wear OS the app no longer respects the watch gestures to sleep/dim the screen. If I am using the Spotify app and then move my hand to my side, start walking, or try to let it timeout, Spotify remains fully active with the screen at full brightness and won't put the watch to sleep. I have the always on display turned on however it doesn't enter the 'sleep' mode where the screen dims and refresh rate is reduced, and inputs are disabled.
This obviously results in accidentally bumping the watch and things like knocking the crown so the music is suddenly deafening in my ears, accidentally hitting the screen and skipping songs, and the watch is awake for ages which kills the battery.
The only temporary solution is that when I've paused or skipped a track in the app, I then have to click the crown to close Spotify where suddenly the gestures work as normal and tilt-to-wake/sleep behaves as expected.
This only occurs in the Spotify app and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The app never used to have this issue.

Unfortunately donkey56's steps didn't fix the problem for me. And turning off auto launch media controls is not a solution but an evasion of the problem. So please Spotify fix this.
Specific Details:
Phone: Google Pixel 7 Pro (Hardware version MP1.0)
Phone software: Android 15 (Build number: BP1A.250305.019)
Spotify Android Version: 9.0.28.630
Watch: Google Pixel Watch (1st Gen)
Watch Software: Wear OS 5
Spotify Watch Version: 9.0.28.626
I have tried all the steps listed as well as all the other obvious ones. In fact due to a totally unrelated issue I had with Google wallet, I did a full factory reset of both the phone and Watch and re-paired them. This issue is still occuring on a fresh install.
Still not fixed with version 9.0.34.579. It's starting to become very annoying.
I have dealt with this for awhile, trying every single option, nothing works, besides I switched to YouTube music because of how loud it can get rather than Spotify
