White screen when trying to open spotify using android on htc one v

White screen when opening spotify using android on htc one v. Works fine on my iPad. Pls help and explain solution in easy to understand language as I'm not technical in any way. Tried restarting phone, clearing from memory still no luck.

1. Go to the phone settings.
2. Select Apps
3. Scroll down to Spotify and select
4. Select clear data and clear cache
5. Select Uninstall
6. Go to Google play and download and install Spotify
7. Ask if this doesn't work for you

Sorry this didn't work. When I went into the app the clear data and clear cache buttons were clear so I could unable to press them. Uninstalled ans reinstalled but still get the white screen. Any further help available? Thanks
