Hello again @rhdroc

The best thing I can reccomend you to do for now is to clean reinstall the Spotify app with these steps:

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings > Apps.
  2. Find Spotify in your list of apps.
  3. If you're able to, tap Clear Data and Clear Cache.
  4. Tap Uninstall to remove the app.
  5. Turn your device off and then back on.
  6. Open Google Play then search for and install the Spotify Music app.

Hope this helps! ♫

Hello @rhdroc & welcome to the Community!

Is your Spotify app on its latest version?

Also, is there any chance someone else is using your account?

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Head over to your account page.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on "Sign out everywhere".
  3. Change your account password.

Let me know if that keeps hapenning.

Hope this helps! ♫

I have a similar issue, actually:

On my Android phone Spotify stops very often right now.

At first I thought it was my headphones going bad, but then I found out that the music actually STOPS, just not the sound not working.

Then I though that maybe the very cold weather we have here messes up the headphone's "universal button" on the cord, making Spotify think it has been told to stop.

BUT then I realized that I don't have that issue in podcasts nor in phonecalls.

VERY weird.

Yes, I'm using the latest version of spotify.  No one self using my account.  My daughter has her own account.  I normally sign in with Facebook but it occurs whether or not I sign in or use Facebook.  I'll try your suggestion and sign out everywhere and change my password.
Thanks!

Your suggestion does work Instead the songs are now shutting off after every two or three songs play. Very annoying!

That such have been doesn't work...

This time it worked!!  Thanks!!

I have had this issue on latest versions and I found to search for optimise battery usage - look for Spotify and switch it off

You can then stream music with no stopping every few mins till you open screen
