Why is the Android app so much behind the iOS app?

Why is the Android app so much behind the iOS app?

Okay, so before I start the rant, I'd like to say that I'm a big fan of Android and have been using Android since 2011, and I can't even imagine myself using iOS phone, but the iOS app is just much better than the Android app.

For example,

-in my opinion, the UI looks better on iOS. Including the tab bar below everything else

-when you long press a song, it opens a better-looking menu (i think that the better menu was on android for like a day or two, but got removed)

-swipe to add to queue

-and the app overall is way faster on iOS

-touch to preview a song

I would love to know why the android app is left behind. We were promised to get changes to the app over a year ago, yet here we are..

I can completely agree. I was always an Android User, but everything Spotify related on Android is behind iOS. The widget, the UI, the performance and stability are NOT satisfying and make me cry almost every time I open the app.
They promised changes in the past, but I think we won't see them in the near future. As a market leader, it's embarrassing.
