Wrong song playing when i search for songs in my downloaded playlist

Hi everyone!

Been using spotify for years and never had any issues until now. However yesterday, when I searched a song on my spotify app on my android phone and selected a song, it started playing a song from the very start of my playlist. I.e. if i searched for a song on my playlist and selected the first song that came up, it would play the first some from the whole playlist. It works fine on my laptop, and if i add to queue and if i just search normally, but it is rather annoying. Any ideas what may be wrong? Is it the app, or my phone? I have tried restarting my phone, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same problem here. Reinstalling the app and Restarting my phone several times didnt help. Pls fix its spotify

Yep having the same problem on our  two Samsung S9 mobiles.  Works fine on Apple. Please fix. We are using premium so not impressed.

Same here tried everything, reinstalled the app, several phone restarts and nothing I need my music!!

Yes, same problem occurred to two of my Android phones, S9 and J5 Prime. Spotify please fix the problem, it's killing me.

Guys, I contacted customer service and this is what they had to say:

"I've checked it here and can confirm that this issue has been happening for Android devices. Don't worry!  The right folks has been made aware of this issue and a fix is its way soon! 

Just make sure that the app is updated as it will be fixed in the next update."

The same is happening to me:

On Samsung Galaxy S8+

Force stopped, Cleared cache, Uninstalled then reinstalled, all in that order and in different ones

So it's been 2 weeks since this starting happening to me as well .Is Spotify doing anything to solve this or are we just **bleep**. It's really annoying searching for someone in my starred playlist and it plays a random top song from my playlist .

Yeah, It is a surprise that they have not fixed this yet. Let alone updated this thread with the status of it.  If they don't fix this soon I am going to have to stop my subscription until they do. I love the service but this bug makes it kinda useless.

As per this post in Ongoing Issues, it seems Spotify is aware of the problem and is still working on a fix.
