XTRONS Android head unit - have to restart Spotify when i return to the car to get audio

XTRONS Android head unit - have to restart Spotify when i return to the car to get audio

I apologise as a highway engineer if i don't use the right jargon here:

Spotify is running on the head unit and the little EQ icon is showing it is playing but no volume is heard (no devices playing elsewhere on the account)

If i force Spotify to close, then reopen it, playing proceeds without a hitch

I'm not sure why turing the car off (ignition off) and then coming back to the car would interrupt the androis apps ability to play

No error messages etc etc, i foce the app to close by using the multiwindow viewer and hitting "X" to end the app.

Again, apologies for the language n.b. the unit is getting its internet from an integral 4G sim (voice and data), Android 14

Hey @Dr_J_C_Bullas,

Thanks for reaching out via the Community and for the shared details!

To get a better understanding, please let us know:

  • Were you previously able to use Spotify in your car without sound issues?
  • Did you notice when this behavior started for the first time (was it after something specific)?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting so far?
  • A bit more info about your setup - do you have your mobile phone connected to the car?

As restarting the app helps, if you've not done this already, please make sure that you're using the latest software (there are no updates) and you can also give Spotify a clean reinstall which often helps with different performance issues.

Lastly, you could also send us a video of the behavior so we can take a look. You can either attach it here via the Insert Video option in the post editor or upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.

We'll be on the lookout for your response.
