Xperia - constant Software Update notification

For the past several weeks I've been getting the red Software Update notification on mobile:

Software Update.  Your device needs updating!  Spotify requires Android version 4.1 or above.  To continue listening, we recommend installing your device's latest operating system.  For more information, check out Spotify's system requirements.

I have Android 8.0.0 and over 500mb free space.  I've tried re-installing the mobile app several times and continue to get this notification.  What do I do from here?

Same problem with Galaxy Note 8. Android 8.0
