My Question or Issue
as i said in the title, the app suddenly crashes whenever i'm using bluetooth and i'm scrolling in between different tracks and albums/playlists. it doesn't crash if i'm in the mode where you can see the album art and lyrics.

OK, I've fixed it..!! (Well for me).
I will explain what I did in the exact same order, as I don't really know which method worked.
1. Deleted Spotify
2. Turned phone off. Removed battery, sim(s).
3. Pressed & held the power button for 3 minutes.
4. Returned sim(s) & battery, and turned back on.
5. Once turned on and back to the home screen, I pressed and held the power button and both up & down volume buttons at the same time until the phone powered off and on again then I released.
6. Once back to the home screen I downloaded Spotify from app store.
7. Spotify then worked with my wireless Bluetooth earphones again.
I hope this works for you all.....I've aged with grey hair this week trying to figure this out.
Same problem here! My Spotify screen freezes & turns opaque-black and stops playing.
I've tested a few things & found it seems to happen when my mobile data is turned on- even if what I'm listening to is downloaded.
I've already tried these things several times: restarting the phone, uninstall/reinstall app, and clearing the cache.
Any advice?
Spotify stops and shuts down whenever bluetooth is activeted on phone CAT S60 Android 6.0.1
Similar issue, also app keeps starting over at the beginning of a 1200 song playlist. What's the point of adding songs if the app is going to play the same songs over and over (and, yes! it plays the same songs repeatedly when it's on shuffle. Awesome.
Me tooo.....has there been a solution to this problem?
My wireless blutooth earphones have been working perfectly on Spotify for years, up until today. Every time I turn the earphones on 'connecting' Spotify crashes, error 'unfortunately spotify has stopped'. I have tried a shutdown, reinstall, clear cache, and a repairing of earphones. I have tested using 2 different sets of wireless earphones, with same issue. The problem has come out of nowhere.
I have a Samsung S5, and had no updates I am aware of.
Have you any solutions / ideas?
I'm having the exact same issue on my Pixel 7, have you found any fixes?
SOLUTION NOT FOUND....
Oddly though....if you log out of Spotify, and manually log back in while your wireless earphones are connected it temporarily works....until you exit the app, then its back to failing over and over again.
It happened again today but this time without mobile data being on- the screen kept turning black about 2 seconds after opening app.. so I turned wifi off and it worked fine again.
Almost the same here, unfortunately. Like you, i have an android 6.0 (samsung J7). Strangely enough, in a android 11 Galaxy, Spotify works perfectly (with the same earbud). In my case, a I can´t even stay in the home screen of the app, it loads completely and crash.
I read that if you deny a permission to find near devices. But on my phone i could not find this permission. Just basic permissions , like storage and microphone.
Waiting for a help. And using a regular earphone.
Same problem here. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S with android 6.0.1 and Spotify app version 8.8.88.397. This week the problems started when playing spotify and connect bluetooth to an external device, in my case Bose Mini II and a Denon CD/MP3/BT player. My Samsung Galaxy Tab S have worked fine without any problems in many years until now. What has happened? I have tried to clear cashe memory and uninstall Spotify app with restart of Samsung Galaxy Tab S unit. Hope Spotify can solve this problem.

A employee at Elgiganten solved it. He installed an older version of Spotify and now it works without problems.
I know this is marked as solved, but just for the record here, apparently the recent update solved the problem, my headphones are working fine now.
