My Question or Issue

 my galaxy s5 running android 7.1.2 keeps getting a message about updating the os to something above 4.1.  what is this?

It sounds like you need to update your device's operating system. You can check for available firmware updates by going to Settings > About Device > Update > Check for updates.

don't think so. the os i use is android 7.1 resurrection remix. it's up to date. anyone else have any suggestions?

I'm also having this issue on my Samsung Galaxy A3. I get the same message even though my android version is 8.0.0. It also feels like Spotify has gotten a lot slower on my device since this started happening. Is there fix?

the good news is that this is probably just a bug.  guess im going to start ignoring these annoyances immediately. that is, until someone at spotify responds with some kind of reasonable explanation of why it's not a bug.
