playing local files on android phone

Can I play local files on my phone without being a paid subscriber? I don't see a library option in the main menu nor can I figure out how to get to the player.

Files have to be in a playlist and sync'd to your phone from your PC. Its a pain in the ****. Why would you want to use the Spotify app to play only your own files anyway - it's a horrible interface for surfing a personal library

Thanks for the info. I was looking for a player other than the stock on my phone. I had never used the player on spotify mobile. I dl a different player yesterday.
