if i shared my playlist as a link to someone, does that mean that they have access to my spotify account? can they mess around with my playlists and even hack into my account?

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!

The Spotify user(s) who you share your playlist link with won't gain access to your account; and they won’t be able to modify your playlist (unless you set it to Collaborative). They will only be able to view, listen to, and follow your playlist; as well as view your Spotify profile by clicking on your display name under the playlist’s title.
