I have the exact same setup, and the exact same problem. Everything else works: pandora on NR1605, spotify on iphone, but everything drops after 2 seconds max. Started this weekend.
Whose fault is this? Who do we need to contact?
@paa: The fault is at the Spotify side. I haven't done any firmware upgrades on my Marantz NR1605 receiver for weeks, and just this weekend Spotify Connect functionality broke. Very annoying!
I've been searching the interwebs to figure out what's going on here. In a way I'm glad it not just me going thourgh this issue.
I'm on a Marantz NR 1605 and Premium account with Spotify. It worked just fine up until around last week.
I use my Sony Experia Z mini to hook up to Spotify Connect, and it plays on the Marantz for one second but then goes through a connection failure.
This is the same case when I use Spotify Connect from my laptop to connect to the Marantz, so it can’t be the phone. Spotify itself works fine on my phone and laptop.
I’ve tried opening the IP ranges on the router as suggested by this fix, but still doesn’t work.
What’s the use of subscribing to Spotify Premium then?!
Any more suggestions welcome
I have the same issue on my SR7009 (Marantz), glad to know it's not just me, but like you all, miffed that I'm paying for something I can't use, headphones aren't my gig.
Hello , same issue with NR 1605 and iPhone and iPad since few days. Reset and reboot everything. No connecion to Spotify server. The display of my NR1605 show message telling it trying to connect, waiting...
We need a fix. Thanks
SR7009 here too .. just set it up two days ago .. Spotify plays for 10 secs then disappears from my List of Connectable devices. boo!
Exact same issue with my NR1605. I have to use Airplay for now.
The very same issue I am having with my NA8005, last week it stopped play with Spotify connect. It just play song for 2 second and then switch to Music server. Glad that many others are having the same problem, hope Spotify will fix it soon.
Looks like they are working on a fix. This is my response from Marantz customer support:
"We are aware of the Spotify Connect failure and are working around the clock with Spotify over the next few days to get this fixed. In the meantime, please consider using Bluetooth or airplay as an alternative to Spotify Connect. "

We're aware of an issue with Spotify Connect and are currently working with Spotify on a solution. In the interim, please use Bluetooth or Airplay if you have an iOS device to stream Spotify to your receiver. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
Here another NR1605 that can't see the device on spotify connect.
