Hello,

on my WIko Wax spotify is unable to save offline music to the sd card. Although the internal disk is full and there is plenty of space on the sd card spotify just says "disk is full". I also emtied the catch and deleted all data...doesn't help.

innit, we need to keep at them. Pester them on Twitter... It seems to be the only way to get a response

same here man. I have the M8 Marshmallow, no luck either... Pester them on Twitter or other social networks... It seems it's the only way to get a response

same here G. Pester them on Twitter or other social networks. It seems the only way to get a response...

tell everyone you know facing the same issue to keep pestering them on social media... It's the fastest, and best way to get things done 🙂

i wouldn't say it's not a priority. More and more people will face the issue as they upgrade to Marshmallow. It's too big a audience to lose out on. Keep pestering the Spotify teams on Twitter... It's the best way for them to see what's happening and for them to get back to you. 🙂

I just activated a Deezer trial and I have to say I am very impressed with this service. Way bigger library than Tidal (and therefor probably equal to Spotify? Not sure until I explore more), unlimited offline downloads, unlimited collection sizes, local file syncing like Spotify (still not as nice as the cloud storage from Google Music) easy saving to an SD card, etc. I'm not gonna cancel my Spotify yet but I'm gonna see how it goes with this for my free month.

Instead of telling people these weird workarounds why don't you code a better client?
Casting from computer to chromecast needs a workaround, this needs a workaround. What is that? A premature Linux distribution? Come on guys.

Ironically the Linux (beta) client works a thousand times better than the joke on Android. It can keep a consistant data base just fine, and even has an option to set the location for offline files!

Even touch support is just fine, so if only my phone could run the Linux client :'/

my frustration with this is off the charts...

hi all,

Im a new android user from iphone 5 to sony z5, loving eveything about the change.

My problem is getting music to the sd card, i have tryed every step in this fourm but nothing works, well i get upto the step were you have to delete the file in the internal storage ( com.google.spotify )or somthing like that)). but there is no file there anywhere even on the sd card to delete?

When looking in the phone, settings- apps-spotify, it tells me the music is on the sd card but when i look in the storage it says my sd card is empty ( just formatted it before downloading music ) and the music is in the "apps" of the device memory.

im sure it will change for better or worse with marsmellow when it comes for this phone, but can anyone help me out as i would really like to work it out, its been driving me nuts...help me..

thanks all..

Just use deezer. Its the same price n better actually. U can even sync ur spotify music over.. and theres no limit to the songs u can download

Yayyyyy!!!! I got it to work on my HTC one M8 (marshmellow)

this is what worked for me:

1. Delete the cache from the (spotify settings)

2. Force close spotify (phone settings)

3. Delete all other data (phone settings)

4. Deinstall spotify,

5. Remove your device from your online spotify account. (www.spotify.com)

6. Format your SD card to internal SD (phone settings)

7. Install spotify. DON"T OPEN YET

8. Move spotify to your SD Card (phone settings)

9. Switch if nessesary all the authorisations on. (phone settings)

9. Log in to spotify, set all your settings to Extreme. (spotify settings)

Check your disc space

10. download your offline playlist,

Check diskspace again.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Could some one please help me get my Spotify to save music to the SD card. I'm running Android 6 on my LG G Stylo. I already gave Spotify all permissions and it still downloads internally. I've formatted my phone and SD card but still to no avail. Reinstalled app various times and deleted cache and still nothing.

It's my knowledge that Spotify does not actually save any music to SD card.

Apologize, not to save the music however but to store data on SD card for offline mode using premium service. Save play lists in order not to use any data.

There's no fix atm mate, you'll have to sit tight until these lacklustre
devs get their act together

I recon of you choose Save for Offline, then data is stored locally, and doesn't use cellular data. I would expect that, because playing that music while in Airplane mode would not need cellular data.

Yes, that is true however Spotify gives the option of storing on SD card instead of internally. However once Android 6 was installed Spotify was unable to save on the SD card anymore. It seems as mentioned that the development team has not made a modification for the issue.

Can Spotify confirm if this bug is being actively being looked at? would be a lot easier if you had a bug tracker... Maybe it would even encourage you take some accountability for the product...

Got this working in marshmallow last night!  Not sure if all these steps are needed but here’s what I did.

  1. Clear app data from within the app itself.
  2. Remove app from android settings.
  3. Look for any folders left behind, I did a search from Windows whilst my phone was connected deleting anything with Spotify in the filename.
  4. Go to Settings -> Storage -> SD -> in top right menu Format SD for internal Storage.
  5. Once this completes Select yes migrate my data.
  6. Install app
  7. Go to App Settings -> Spotify -> Give Spotify Storage Permission
  8. Download some music it should save on the SD.

If you’ve already formatted your SD for internal storage it may be just a case of going to Settings -> Storage -> SD -> in top right menu Migrate data. I’m Unable to confirm this.

Sounds good but once you format it to internal, you can't put the external
SD into any other device...
