My Question or Issue

Since this morning anytime my headphones (sony xm4 in case it's relevant) pick up nearby speech of any kind spotify automatically pauses, then resumes a few seconds later so long as no one says anything.

There have been no software updates of any kind overnight for android, my headphones, or spotify. I've disconnected spotify from discord (and force stopped discord to no avail), made sure spotify has permission to play in the background, cleared my cache, and restarted my phone.

I listened to over 2k hours last year but this is a hard deal breaker for me if ot isn't fixed asap.

Hey, @skraz1265,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Thanks for including the model of your headphones. I had a look online and this behavior seems to be caused by Sony's 'Speak-to-Chat' feature. Here's how to turn it off:

  1. Open the Sony | Headphones Connect app, and connect the headphones to your Galaxy S22.
  2. In the Sound tab, turn off the Speak-to-Chat function.

Another way to do it directly from the headphones themselves is to press and hold in the center with two or more fingers and you should receive a confirmation that Speak-to-Chat has been turned off.

Hope this helps. Cheers 🤘
