thumbs up and down broken

I have spotify installed on my Samsung s5. It is brand new. I have to continually reinstall spotify because the thumbs up/down will not work. I press it and it flashes green for the time my finger is on it but as soon as I lift my finger it goes away and does not register. I have searched the forums already and spotify is super annoying in that no human responds to support questions so here I am. I am tired of reinstalling daily! Help!

Update: When I am on other apps and I pull down the menu or notification bar or whatever it's called, I can thumbs up or down from there but not when spotify is full screen.
