widget in notification pulldown is HUGE now

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S5, and after a recent update, the little widget with the album art and forward/pause/back controls went from being fairly small, about the same size as a new text or email notification, to being frickin' giant, and taking up most of the screen. To top it off, it doesn't even use the space! It's about 90% empty! Same tiny album art, along with same size controls. The notification is just mostly occupied by a giant black blank space.

Anyone else see this?

Same, I can manually make it smaller again like other notifications but after locking the screen and unlocking it, it becomes big again ... Not sure how to set the small version as standard
