Android 13 squiggly progress bar on media controls notification not updated

I have just updated my phone to the latest Android 13 update and I cannot get the "dancing" progress bar feature on the media player notification to work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my phone and triple checked all the settings on the app and on my phone but there seems to be no way to enable this feature. I have seen it everywhere online and they were talking about it as one of the highlights of Android 13. I have gotten the new media controls panel, just not the new progress bar.
