Devices overruning each other?

Hola- Wasn't sure what to title this, and I'm new to this site.  We have the family plan with 5 users on it.  Consistently, when my wife and one of my daughters is listening to Spotify on their account and on their phone, it interferes with what I'm listening to at that moment.  I'm riding my bike and listening to a playlist, and all of the sudden Taylor Swift or Declan McKenna bumps it out.  Is this a problem with the account?  Our cell phones?  It usually happens when they are plugged into the car, but I'm not sure if that's always the case or not.  Any ideas on this?
