New desktop UI

New desktop UI

I do not use the home page, I DO NOT WANT IT TO BE REQUIRED TO TAKE UP HALF THE WINDOW. This is one of the dumbest redesigns for a music app. I want a window with just all my albums in grid view like EVERY OTHER MUSIC APP CAN. Not to mention how hideous it is to have the album art thoughtlessly and uncomfortably stamped in the corner on top of other album art while browsing.

THIS is what the layout looks like when you open the app by default. Who decided this was good. The UI literally looks like those old proprietary file transfer programs for like. zunes. or 2009 digital cameras. This is genuinely jarring to the eye.

**bleep**, i just want a list (text) of my playlist, not these awful big icon things. This is probably gonna make me cancel my account, its so counterintuitive

I got used to the new layout I got it a few months back and today I open the app on my computer and its all back to the layout
I wasnt so opposed to the new design and now its just all reverted.
I just wish one would get a headsup when they change things and if it stays or not this whole switching is annoying af
How long do I have the old userface now will I randomly get switched back?! this sucks.

In your settings you can change the library to "compact library layout" and it will change to just a text list.

This is not at all what I was talking about; Admins: this is NOT A SOLUTION. I'd like to have a full grid view of albums just like there's been on the Spotify app I think literally as long as its existed, certainly in the 7 years I've been using it.

The sidebar looks really messy, counterintuitive and unpleasant to scroll:
• I'm not interested at all to see all the contents in one place, the result is a messy list of elements (attached picture) really hard to surf.

• Even if I use the tags to filter the contents, it's really annoying not having a personalized arrangement of the library!! Folders are fine, but I need to be able to decide the order of my playlist as I want, just like before!

• Top menu has only Home and Search, but it was totally fine to have more elements that allowed to have a tidier library: favorite songs, podcasts and so are useful shortcuts!! Why putting them all together in one chaotic place??

I don't know exactly how this forum works but EdoGracis I think you should make this a separate topic, it's not related to what I was talking about.

I had already looked into the settings and I do not have a section for library. When I use the search option nothing comes up either.
Already tried deinstalling and reinstalling but nothing changed
Also I didnt manually changed the layout it just changed when I started up I didnt change anything in the settings.

I use the web player, not desktop, but I have the same issue! Today I go to Spotify and I see the ui is completely f***'d up! Why do they keep "fixing" things that don't need fixing and making the experience worse? First they made it so clicking a song in search no longer takes you to the album its from like you would expect, but rather goes to lyrics? Newsflash, there's already a button for that! I don't like lyrics anyway, it's more fun to make them out from listening. Reading lyrics is like a cheat sheet.

Now they moved the header bar from a top row to a left column, and it's so ugly! And yes, if you want to navigate your saved albums, you can't go through a large grid of album covers anymore. Now it's scroll through a tiny vertical window on the left. Let's make the premium desktop experience just as sh*tty as a mobile phone's! Mobile-first, right, guys!
