New layout/UI/Recommendations.

After going through Spotify Support, who suggested I leave feedback here, it seems that the new version of Spotify I am seeing is actually due to them deciding to test new features on me. Exactly what these new features are is unclear.

I no longer have sections like "recently played", "Jump back in", or "your top mixed". I now have a single list of apparently random albums and playlists. Many of these don't seem to be picked due to my listening data as they are by artists I have never heard of, from genres I do not listen to.

The list is also populated with mixed and playlists "made for" other people. I have at times found four or five "daily mix 5" playlists, and only one of them was made for me.

It should go without saying, but I think this is all awful. The new features apparently being tested mean I have less to choose from on the main page, and have to browse through a lot of playlists designed for other people, which I will never have any interest in.

I also think we should be able to opt in/out of being tested on. It seems unfair that I pay for a family premium account, only for Spotify to decide to run some tests on me, making my account practically unusable for an unspecified amount of time.

Same x1000. I've resorted to using my search history as my "recently played" list. It's a bandage more than a cure. I NEED them to bring back the old home screen because this new version is not it.

The new home screen is an absolute mess. So much screen space being wasted for recommendations that are not relevant in the least. Podcasts that I listened for five minutes years ago, or some TOP50 playlist with music that I've never listened to. If there's not a rollback to the old UI, it might be easier to just change music services to something more usable.

Yes this is the new waste of space home page. We went from nice to super huge waste of space that focuses exclusively on album art. Congrats on making explicit album art way easier to see (not really). The older interface was way better. Now recommending and discovery is chore of scroll scroll scroll scroll scroll scroll etc etc

It's back! Original home screen is back!

Too little too late for me.

I cancelled my family subscription and signed up to Tidal. The family plan is cheaper than Spotify anyway, and I'm happy with it so far.

If Spotify had let me opt out of the "test", or offered me compensation for paying for several months of an unusable app I might have stayed. As it happens the customer support was dismissive at best, If not just rude.

Goodbye Spotify, hello Tidal.

I just opened Spotify this morning to find this trash fire of a UI change, it's terrible. I'm ready to go back to Pirate Bay over this

new UI is dog💩, I like to see my Recently Played, Discover Weekly and mixes made for me. THEN you start your infinite scroll of **bleep** podcasts. Stop pushing podcasts on me.

My Question or Issue

I simply don't like the new look of the starting page feed. It changed from a pretty sophisticated topic and content driven style to some kind of endless scrolling feed with huge tiles, less content, stupid suggestions. Sorry, I liked the old better!

spotify: please stop trying to be tiktok. the new "discovery feed" seems like a misguided attempt to keep users on the app longer when it actually causes more stress.  i love how spotify allows you to listen and discover new music without staring at a screen. new features such as this turn spotify into just another social media platform to get trapped in an endless scroll in.  this does not prioritize user mental health or promote heathly app use.

please please make the discovery feed optional and consider withholding tiktok-like updates in the future. thank you.
