Spotify Web Silent Hi-Fi Tests?

Spotify Web Silent Hi-Fi Tests?

Spotify web has historically provided higher audio quality than the applications: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/audio-quality/

However, around the time Spotify removed Neil Young, I noticed two things:

1. Spotify web works on mobile

2. Since Neil Young got pulled, Spotify web has sounded NOTABLY better than normal

I'm not certain this is lossless, but there has been a change.

I was also just streaming a song, and noticed my bandwidth spiked to 2.8 Mbps while streaming a song.

I'm asking for official confirmation from Spotify: are you trialing some kind of upgrade in quality?

Can we get it working on the apps? Because the app still sounds awful.

Here is a simple example showing overall system bandwidth use while streaming.

These spikes are definitely Spotify. You can pause the app, and the spikes will stop.

I guess this still averages out to 270 Kbps, which is higher than Spotify advertises.

switch to apple music, you'll notice right away how good it suppose to sound. Spotify doesn't provide hi-fi/lossless at all.
