Spotify and BMW

Hi Everyone!

I recently purchased a 2019 BMW X5 xDrive40i. I use the Spotify on my phone via Apple CarPlay and the Spotify built into the car. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed an issue with playback after queueing music.

I'll be driving with some friends, I'll pass my phone around to get a queue going, and very shortly after, the Spotify from my phone will show that it's playing music, but I'm not able to hear anything. When I click the pause, and then play button, it ends up getting stuck and won't play anything until I either restart my phone or restart the car.

I try to jump to the Spotify app that is built into the car thinking it will continue to play, but that doesn't work either. I end up having to switch to Sirius XM or park the car and trick it into thinking I left and got back in. After this, it will start to work again, but the second a queue is created, it happens all over again.

If anyone has had any experience with this, please reach out! I'm eager to get this sorted out.

The software on my iDrive is up to date, and I'm running iOS 15.5 on my iPhone.
