Waggin' hello to you Brian_s_3!

Spotify's search function uses a complex algorithm to match your search query with the most relevant songs, albums, playlists, and artists. When you search for a particular song, like "Strange Fruit," Spotify's algorithm looks at various factors to determine what other songs might be related to that query.

Some of the factors that Spotify's algorithm considers include:

  1. The title and artist of the song you searched for
  2. The genre of the song you searched for
  3. The popularity of the song you searched for
  4. The similarity of the song you searched for to other songs in Spotify's library

In the case of "Strange Fruit," it is a famous song by Billie Holiday that is often associated with themes of racism and discrimination. "Blood on the Leaves" by Kanye West samples the melody of "Strange Fruit" and also deals with themes of race and violence, which could explain why it is related to the original song.

It's worth noting that the results you see in Spotify's search are influenced by your own listening habits and the listening habits of Spotify's user base as a whole. So if you listen to a lot of Billie Holiday or Kanye West, Spotify may be more likely to recommend "Blood on the Leaves" when you search for "Strange Fruit."

Pawsitively excellent question, if you have any others gimme a howl!
