shuffle is horrendous

shuffle is horrendous

I have over 4,000 songs saved and the shuffle keeps playing the same artists and songs over and over again. I'll look through it and realize there are so many songs I have barely heard. I'll have to be constantly skipping just to get to something different. I've seen this problem been brought up before but nothing has been done. I am getting tired of this app.

Here the same experience. Some tracks you hear often, while others almost never. Shuffle should put the last played tracks at the end of its shuffle list, bu that's not the case.

I’m having the same issue.  It seems to choose to play the ones that are the oldest and have been played the most.  Definitely not random.  Sometimes I go in and use “add to queue” to bump the newly added songs up, but it is annoying.  I work from home and constantly have music or podcasts playing, and I’m getting sick of hearing the same songs when I’ve carefully curated the perfect eclectic mix.  😒

Ik heb net het zelfde probleem: steeds dezelfde nummers die herhaald worden. En daarom is dit de grootste reden waarom ik géén premium neem, dezelfde problemen zouden zich kunnen blijven voordoen. Komt er nog eens bij dat mijn afspeellijsten op mijn laptop niet automatisch worden overgezet naar mijn smartphone en ik dus in principe alle lijsten 2 keer moet installeren! Spotify heeft duidelijk nog véél werk voor de boeg om de app eens ordentelijk en naar behoren te doen functioneren.

same here, it’s really annoying and the problem bleeds into the playlist radios and recommended songs. I wish there was a way for us to “like” or “dislike” what we are hearing so it can make adjustments because I like the music genre, but not the same 10 songs over and over 

I can only agree on all these comments. Shuffle in Spotify is RUBBISH ! I cannot understand that a renomated company as Spotify is not capable of bringing this kind of basic functionality to a decent level furthermore while this is part of the music experience. This should be one of your top priorities. Very frustrating…

We should all contact the consumer organisation's in every country, so that every one sees that this is a HUGE PROBLEM FOR REAL MUSIC LOVERS. I had contact with the spotify helpdesk, they asked me a lot of questions, made me do several things of which I knew from the beginning that it would not help, I simply spoiled my time with the helpdesk.. So they got a bad evaluation... I have several Playlist  with thousands of songs, I hope that random play will work correctly very soon. But now I will send a copy of these comments to different consumer organisations. It is indeed incredible that such a big world wide company can't organise a simple correct random play of a playlist. Or do they only play the tracks that are not too expensive for them and give them the most profit. Does anybody read these comments in spotify?
