I've
been off Facebook since 2010. I recently opened an account with Spotify. This
has now somehow reactivated my Facebook account!! Why did this happen?? I did
not open my Spotify account using my old Facebook account details.

When you are logging into the Spotify client, are you signing in using a spotify username or an email address? 

If you accidentally signed in using your Facebook details, it might have somehow reactivated your account. You need to sign in using your dedicated Spotify username and password.

I signed in using my new Spotify username. The email address linked to my Spotify account is similar to my Facebook account, but not exactly the same.

Hi ditaup - Right now your 'ditaup' account isn't linked to a Facebook account. 

Deactivating your Facebook won't affect that account at all. Just be sure to always log in with that 'ditaup' username to avoid confusion.
