Can't change payment method

Can't change payment method

Hey! I have gotten a spotify subscription code, and wan't to delete my Visa card as the payment method. But when I go to Subscription, I hit the "Change payment method or card details" button, and now the problem comes. I mark the "Remove payment method", and press Change. But the card information is still not changed, as If I never tried to delete it. So the renewal will still come, and I will be charged for money I won't pay.

Hey 🙂

If you apply your subscription code, your next subscription payment date will just be pushed back by how long the discount code is for. For example, if you currently pay for Spotify premium monthly, applying a 1 month premium code will just push your next payment date back by 1 month. You do not need to remove your card details to do this. As far as I am aware, the system won't let you remove your card details as long as you have an active subscription coming from that card.

If you do wish to remove your card details, so your subscription won't renew after your premium code expires, you can cancel your current subscription from your online account, don't worry, you won't loose any premium days you have already paid for.

As far as I am aware, Spotify do not have the ability to change this date for you since payments are processed by a 3rd party.

The only thing I can suggest is that you cancel your subscription, and then resubscribe on the correct day of the month, as Spotify will take payment monthly on that day.

If you where to cancel your subscription now, you would continue to be unlimited/premium up until your next payment date, which from your post looks to be the 2nd of January. Then after that, wait for a day, then resubscribe on the 3rd or 4th. After that, all subsequent payments will be taken out on the 3rd or 4th depending on the date you resubscribed.
