Cannot manually connect to facebook

I signed up up for a spotify account seperate from my facebook account. Now I want to connect to Facebook with my Spotify account - is this possible? When I try to manually connect to FB it says there is an error.

Hi pmaxwell55, welcome to the Community.

Your existing account looks fine. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to connect it to Facebook from Preferences > connect to Facebook.

In most cases when this happens your Facebook account will already be connected to a Spotify profile (often by accident). Get in touch here, including your Facebook email address and date of birth and one of our support team will be able to get things fixed up . If you get an automated response, reply back to it directly.
