Duplicate Account?

Solved!

Duplicate Account?

Dear People at Spotify,

It seems I have one account with spotify directly and another one with my facebook-ID?

Strange thing is: I logged in with my 'normal' account to renew my premium, but it seems that it has been

booked on an account i can only get onto when i log in with my facebook details.

It's annoying because my playlist are in the 'normal' account while my subscription is in the 'facebook' account.

I hope you can help!

I had duplicate accounts like whoisitwho had, except my playlist were linked to the Facebook-made Spotify account. I tried to connect the second account to my Facebook account and later all my data from my original Spotify account. My playlist, who I've followed, what songs I've liked, and what I've starred are all gone. Please help, thank you

Hey sdmitch16 - The CS team can help recover those playlists for you. However, who you followed and your followers can't be transferred between accounts.

Just pop over to our contact form so they can help 🙂

I cant get back to my 1274909274 account. I want my tracks and my followers back what do i do? I dont want this account being synced up.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to get that sorted out for you.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello!

Please help me! I don't know what happened but just a few days ago, I noticed all of my playlists, listening history and messages were gone from my spotify account 😞 I'm really not happy about it .....I am wondering if I have a duplicate account but I have no idea how to figure this out. I haven't found any ways to get around this or dig deeper into this.

Hey Karina 🙂

Do you have a Spotify username which you created when you registered? If so, try logging in using that username and your Spotify password rather than using your email address (which logs in via Facebook).

If you need more help getting back to your account, get in touch here and one of the Spotify team will be more than happy to assist you. Just be sure to reply directly to any automated email replies you get, which will push your case through to an advisor.

In that case if you get in touch with support using the online contact form they will be able to get those copied over for you or restored depending on what happened to them!

Hi Meredith,

I have a similar problem - somehow I have created a duplicate account, but it's not linked to Facebook.

The other day I tried to logon to my regular Facebook account on a friend's Laptop that I borrowed (I wanted to upgrade to Premium). However, it didn't recognize my login details and after several attempts I got in (or at least I thought I had). Anyhow, once in, I upgraded to premium, after doing so, I immediately realised that this wasn't my original account but a new one. I'm not sure how this could have happened. How can 2 accounts be set up against the same email address?

Anyhow, because I so eagerly wanted music back on my mobile I have since upgraded my original account to premium but have been charged for both accounts. I therefore need to latest one cancelling. I am unable to get into it because I do not know the User ID. I remember that it gave me a number based ID that I never took a note of (I quickly entered through believing I was in my original one)

Would you be able to help me please as I am being charged for 2 accounts when I can only use 1. Can you cancel the latest one please?

Many thanks,

Sam

Hey britts007, welcome to the Community.

Get in touch here and one of our support team will be able to fix things for you. Include all email addresses and usernames, and ideally your order IDs from receipts, that you think you might've used so they can find both accounts.

I am having the same problem They're not recognizing my email and I only got one what they say its somebody else's email I'm about to cancel if I cant get my playlist and keep it

I can't even listen to my music now because I can't log on

Please someone help me because I like Spotify

Hi aubreyajjohnson - As your account was set up via Facebook just enter your FB email + password.

If you need to reset the password just head over to Facebook's website.

Please give that a try and let us know how it goes--thanks!

I've got the same problem. Just did an update on spotify and now i have a new account(duplicate) and i cant get to my old account with playlists... Please help me asap!!! Thanks a lot

Hey @burpkdsign ! Welcome to the community 🙂

The fastest way to get this sorted is to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to get you back to your original account with your playlists on it. There appears to have been a update issue which is affecting some users creating duplicate accounts, so you aren't alone!

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

It seems my playlists have disapeared after updating, but others who were subscribed to them can still view and listen to them.

Do i have duplicate accounts? What should I do?

@12100072259 - Get in touch just as I posted above and the Spotify team will be able to help you out with that 😉
