Free Spotify Premium Question

I was using spotify as I do everyday, and an ad came on in between songs that explained the 30-day free trial of Spotify Premium. Cool! I was really excited to check this out as I would love to listen to music uninterrupted by ads and even play offline. So I clicked the banner as instructed and it directed me to a checkout.

Now here is where I find a problem. Spotify wants users to experience the free trial of Spotify Premium in hopes that a good percentage of participants will purchace the Premium status.

But in order for a user to obtain a free trial, they must give a credit card number/card information or use a verified paypal account (wil a valid credit card on the paypal account for internet banking/transactions). I have neither. I want to experience the free trial and MAYBE purchase the full deal later on in time.

Is there any way to try the free trial legally without a verified paypal account or credit card? I already tried a blank paypal account (no transactions/credit cards on the account), but it said I needed to have one.

In short, I want to try the 30 day premium trial, but I need a credit card/verified paypal account which I don't have. Is there any other way of getting the free trial?

BrendanD526 - Welcome to the Community! To activate the free Premium trial, you will need to add payment details. There isn't a way round this at present.

My question is above, it seems I can't just use standard non-premium, having just joined. 

I know it is free for 30 days but I don't want it, consumer choice and all that, how do I just get to

start using the standard spotify?

Ccronin - It looks like you have a free account now, so this is the basic version. Is this the one you were after?

This is probably not the official way to ask my question but so far I couldn't find the proper way. 

My question is: "How is it possible I get a 30 day trial for free Spotify Premium when I click on the add for 60 day trial?"
