GIFT CARD REDEMPTION - PROBLEM

I bought my son a $60 gift card to Spotify. He wants to use it for 6 months of Premium but when he went to redeem it only gave him the option of 12 months unlimited. He's rather disappointed. Is there a way he can use is for 6 months premium? Change it somehow? I emailed spotify and the answer was completely vague and not helpful. Thanks!

That is strange, to my knowledge any gift card that can be used for unlimited can also be used for premium. 

I would suggest you get in touch with the Spotify customer services team using the online contact form and they will be able to look into this for you. If you get an automated reply directing you to the community, just reply directly to that email again (even if it says not to) and your case will be picked up by an agent as soon as possible.
