Hi,
Though this may be half way off topic:
I'm trying out the trial right now and because this Service is awesome beyond what I expected I'm seriously considering a subscription. I was however a bit disappointed, that it's the same number in fron of the € sign that US users get in front of the $. However reading it's the same for £ ... That seems just wrong. I wonder whether it'd be 999 ¥ if I were in Japan right now. (That reminds me I have to check whether Spotify is available there, since I seriously consider moving there in the next few years. ^^)
The subscription rates for each country are negotiated with the record companies and seem to follow the trend for all similar services. Spotify isn't available in Japan currently but you can use a premium or unlimited subscription "abroad" without restriction.

Don't forget about tax too, in the UK we pay 20% VAT which means you only pay Spotify £8 out of £9.99, whereas in the US if you pay $9.99 there is no tax on that.

I know, but 8 british pounds still translate to more than 12 US$.
Considering it goes to Stockholm (Spotify is a Swedish company isn't it?) it would look like this:
10 US$ --> 65 SEK
8 british pound --> 80 SEK
8 EUR (19% VAT, so roughly the same as in the UK) --> 69 SEK
So yea, considering the tax the EUR price I'd pay seems okay, but to my European neighbours in the UK it still seems harsh.
I guess we are just used to paying more for things. Although students get premium for £4.99 so I'm not complaining!

I want to know why after 2 1/2 yrs. They have decided to start charging tax to the 9.99. I'm not happy because there are sites out there that don't charge tax just flat rates and no surprises. I'm passed and thinking of canceling my subscription all together.
