Spotify Will Not Let Me Cancel

I am attempting to cancel spotify as I had a free trial and don't really use it at all.  However the website will not let me cancel, which is pretty infuriating.

 

When I get to the confirm password page it shows the error message:

 
"Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or check out our help area"
 
There is no relevent help in the help section.  I have checked that the password is accurate and have tried to cancel on a bunch of different browsers and devices all to the same effect.  
 
So I can't help but think this is a deliberate and underhand trick trying to catch people out who are cancelling their free trials at the last minute by not allowing them to cancel.  
 
Fortunatley I've tried to do it with enough notice so hopefully I'll have time to get this sorted, but I imagine there are plenty people who are caught out and get charged the monthly fee.
 
Needless to say I will never use any spotify service again as I find this sort of bulls*** tactic tantamount to fraud.
 
If I'd known they'd try this I never would have taken out the free trial, and I'll be advising everyone I know not to risk it.
 

Any help as to how to rid myself of this unwanted service before I get charged would be very greatfully appreciated.

This IS NOT deliberate, and I people that would think it is, well, I won't say anything.

Please try using a different browser - I find chrome works really well with the spotify site.

Give a different browser a go like LiamW suggested 😉

I'd like to assure you that Spotify doesn't attempt to stop customers from cancelling their subscription. We couldn't expect to have built a successful service that way.

 

I think this is caused by a misunderstanding. You haven't actually taken a Spotify Free Trial. In fact, your Spotify Premium subscription comes via your mobile telecom provider, Virgin UK. When a subscription is handled by a partner in this way it can't be cancelled at the Spotify website. You need to contact Virgin to cancel your subscription through them.
