I'm trying to access my premium account. directions say to plug in the ipod, then click on devices, etc. the ipod is plugged in, which opens itunes, so i know there's no problem connecting it. but spotify doesn't recognize that i've plugged it in. help, i am clueless.
I had a problem similar when I first tried to connect my account with the app. I solved it by simply deleting the app and re-downloading it. Once you've done that, close your desktop app and re-login to that with your iPod connected. Make sure you have both apps open (on your iPod and your desktop) and then add a few songs to your playlist on your desktop. It should sync up after that.
If you have any more questions or need a bit more guidance, feel free to reply again and I'll get back to you!
Good luck! 🙂
When I connect my ipod via usb to my macbook, spotify does not recognize the ipod. It only recognized it the first time I had plugged it in. No matter what i do it still will not detect the ipod on spotify under devices.
Welcome to the Community JamesMoran! have you tried a clean reinstallation?

Hey 🙂
What type of iPod is it?
If it is an iPod touch be aware that if you want to sync local files into the Spotify application, you can't do that via USB. Normally, iPod Touch devices are synced using WiFi, as outlined in the iPhone (same steps) here.

Yes, I tried deleting spotify and reinstalling it on my computer and still having the same issue.
What issue? As Peter said, local files are synched via wifi, not USB or am I missing something?
i have the same problem but i dont have premium. when i try to sych my ipod touch spotify doesnt recognize it. i just recentley started using this ipod because my previous ipod lost all its songs when trying to synch with spoitfy when it would perfectley before. Now that one has no music and wont synch. Back to my issue now, my itouch will not sych to spotify but it will synch to itunes and my computer and i dont have premium i use local files.
You're following the instructions in the FAQ for iphone and synching over wifi? Does the touch show under devices in the desktop client?
