Hi,
I have been using Spotify for about a month or less, and I'm really liking it so far. However, when I opened it today it said that from now on I can only have 10 hours per month and play each song a maximum of 5 times? As unhappy and angry as I am about this limitation, I can see the reasoning if that's the agreement you have with labels. However, I was informed that the limit only came in after six months? There is simply no way I have been using the service for that long, and I would like my normal Spotify back!
Thanks,
Joe Pusey

Hey Joe 🙂 Welcome to the community!
You are correct, those restrictions only come into effect when your account has been registered for 6 months. Do you sign into Spotify using Facebook? If so, then you most likely opened your account in the past by clicking on a Spotify link whilst logged into Facebook.

Hi, the restrictions come into play 6 months after account creation.
It is easily possible that you made your account a while back, but you didn't realise - especially if you clicked a Spotify link in facebook, as this would automatically make you an account.

Oh really? That's a really odd system, but fairly likely I guess! Can't say I'm in favour of that mode of operation, but at least that solves the mystery 🙂 Thanks guys!
