So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

I am having a similar problem..I forgot my password, but I dont have the email I signed up with anymore, and it won't let me log in with facebook. I also updated my facebook email but that didn't seem to help. Is there a way to update my email?
HI mandakay - As your account was created via Facebook, the only way to log in is with your FB email and password.
Are you receiving any error messages or codes? For now I recommend changing your FB password and giving that another go.
I have the same problem. Can't change my password or e-mail. Can't login via IPhone.
kingces95 - I believe you're having trouble because you recently made a new account via Facebook.

Same problem here. I have my newest email adress connected to Facebook, and I want to use the same adress with spotify, since the old one is no longer in use.

For some reason Spotify changed itself back to "Spotify free". I tried to upgrad my payment details, and change back to Spotify unlimited but when I do that it wants me to write in a password. I assume this is the same password as for my log-in, but it will not accept it. There are no "send me an e-mail with a new password" options.
What do I do then?

I just upgradeed my account to premium and when it was done an messege said something like "this information will also be sent to your emal"... BUT there's just one big problem; I'm not using that email adress(that also are spelt wrong from the first place) and when I tryed to change it under "edit profile" it said that another acoount already is using my email wich is anna@*******.se. But thats impossible, no one colud use theat email but me, so why does it says so? Very greatful for help!// Anna

I have another issue here. I basicly got a spotify Premium account to connect my Sonos system to it.
I loged in using facebook (vincent@*******.be) and got the number after a long search on spotify to connect the Sonos.
All worked.
Now, a few months later, I thought of connecting on the job.
So I download the spotify for windows thing, and log in using facebook login: NO GO.
Tried using the number again (after resetting the password since I forgot about it): NO GO.
Since I changed the password, I guess the Sonos won't work anymore.
I don't know if, like all others here, I have a duplicate account, but please help me find a way to have it working.

Impossible to reset my password, like it seems to keep the old one.
Seems I've reset my password with success during the procedure, but when I want to reconnect, I get a "wrong password".
I never use the Facebook connection or try to get that access.
Got an idea?

I have the same issue, trying to edit my country as I´ve just moved to London but it won´t let me.
andreasshoel - I'm sure we can help, we just need that second email address. Just pop up us a note via the contact form and we'll delete that second account.

AnnaS - It seems you created another account with that email address some time ago. Not to worry, that's been removed for you.
vincentdal - You should be able to sign in with your Facebook email/ password on the Windows desktop app. Don't use the numbers you use for Sonos.
If you can't log in pleease reset your FB password and give it another try.

No luck....
When I install spotify desktop, I get a login screen which accepts my facebook account.
After that, I get a screen making me choose between "I'm new at spotify" or "sign in". I chose the last, and have to log in again. When I do so, I get username and/or password not correct.
Same after FB password reset.

I receive the email which allows me to reset my password.
I type and retype my password. Tells me that is a success (so i'm directly connected with my account).
But when I disconnect and try to reconnect with the new password, I get a "Wrong password" :'(

Yes. There was a new one created with Facebook details. It is now pushing up the daisies.
Creating an extra account is most likely to happen when you either log in using Facebook details, or even more likely when you use a Spotify play button in Facebook. Since you are using the same email address in Facebook and Spotify, you are prompted with your "real" Spotify account, but it is possible to reject that suggestion and create a new one.
This can be avoided by connecting your Spotify account to your Facebook profile. Then you will always be recognised. If you're not in the mood for sharing, you can turn the features off in Preferences. You will still have your Facebook profile image on your Spotify profile page though.
