Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

could you, spotify, be so kind and remove my facebook connected account as I only use my original Spotify account and always have. I just now, for the first time, logged in using facebook as I suddenly started recieving emails two weeks ago. I tried to find a way to delete it but don't know where. I don't want to have spotify connected or linked with facebook in any way. thank you.

I've been trying to change my email address and keep getting the message:

Another account is already registered with this email address. That email address what is now

in use, havent had it for 1-2 years. Want to change to gmail account. Think it cause of link to FB what i removed but cant still change. Thank You cheers

Hi oakleyjr - We'll need to know the address you're trying to use in order to help here. 

 

I recommend getting in touch via the contact form. That way you don't need to post your personal email on the public forum.

Hey, my friend is having a struggle changing her premium account password, but without changing her facebook pass aswell (her account is linked to facebook)
Is there anyway this is possible, or can you unlink the account, without losing every playlist? o.O
Would love it if she is able to change her password, and still have her account intact....

I've just purchased a Premium subscription and noticed that the receipt had been sent to an email address I no longer use. I've tried editing my account information to include my current address but I am told "Another account is already registered with this email address".

 

I then tried logging in with this account in hope that there was a 'Delete account' option so I could free up this email address, but I am told it is not associated with an active Spotify account.

 

Could you please remove any account associated with the address 'mail@nathanlawson.co.uk' so that I can change the details on my active account which is 'nathan.lawson@hotmail.com' to include this address instead.

 

I guess I must have created a duplicate when I integrated Spotify with Facebook.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I am also unable to change password due to the "Another account is already registered with this email address" issue. I use Spotify login only.

 

Secondly, I have all the email notification settings set to never and I still receive some updates from facebook friends. Is this problem also connected to the second account?

I started having a problem signing in a week ago. I could play the songs I had synced on this computer, but could not browse new songs... I got a error (one of those red bars on the top in the window) that the username/password was wrong..
So I tried singing in with my facebook sign in info. And then I was asked to sign in with my spotify account info -.-
Tried to reset my password but I don't seem to get the emails...
So basicly i dont have acces to my premium account and my playlists -.-

Hi, I cannot use my actual email address as the system states that another account is using this email address, so I assume there is a duplicate facebook type account that needs deleting centrally. Please can this be done for me? My daughter's email address is currently on my account, I need to replace the "emma" account with "ken" on the same email domain name, but the one beginning with "ken" is innaccessible - it says it does not exist when I try to do a password reset on it..

More info on my problem:
When I try to log into my premium account I actually get access to the playlists I have synced on this computer... But the player is in offline mode..
A red bar at the top is allso saying: "The username or password is incorrect. Please check that your details are correct: log out and log in to your spotify again. (error code: 410)"
But as stated earlier I don't get any of the emails for resetting my password..
And this is for my 88nightrider account, as I am only able to log in with my "facebook account" atm...

nachogazpacho - I'm not seeing a second account with the same email. When you do the password reset are you entering your 'nachogazpacho' username?

 

EditWe've found that other account. Should be all sorted for you now.

final_chapter - Please give that another try with your 'ken' email. Give me a shout if you're still having trouble. 

 

Thank you for your response. I still cannot change the "emma" email address to the "ken" one as the system says the "ken" one is associated with another account. In brief, I need the "ken" email address to be released so that final_chapter can have it's email address changed to the "ken" one. If I try to restore the details relating to the "ken" address, the system still says it not associated with an active account, yet when I try and change the final_chapter account email address to the "ken" one, the system says that the email address IS associated with an active account. I hope this makes sense. All I want to do is restore my account back to where it was 6 months ago with my email address, then upgrate to premium with everything in place.

Hi final_chapter - Please give that another try, that email should be free for you now. 

Meredith, I am having the same issue. I cannot change my password because when I click "Save Profile" it says my email has already been registered. I created my account before Facebook integration happened, I thought? Thanks for your help!
